Tansi, my name is Nicole Minde and I am from the Ermineskin Cree in Nation. I have been involved with the Assembly of First Nations National Youth Council since 2004 and have been appointed as the Female Youth Rep of Alberta by the current Regional Chief. The opportunity that has been presented before me has allowed me to grow and learn about issues affecting First Nations across the country on a national level. To be apart of this Youth Council, has been a surreal opportunity and I am honored to be apart of this group of individuals, who truly represent their respective regions well. In turn, I have been able to advocate for First Nations Youth in hopes that in unity and strength, we will move forward together. Currently I am working for the Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations in the area of Consultation in Resource development and land management. I have also obtained two bachelors degree for the University of Albert in Physical Education (BPE) and an Arts degree (BA) majoring in Native Studies and minor in Women’s studies. I have also been apart of competitive swimming and sprint canoe for numerous years both at the provincial and national levels.
